CirrusHQ attends launch of AWS Educate in Scotland

As part of its ongoing commitment to the development of the Scottish cloud market, CirrusHQ CEO, James Lucas, attended the launch of AWS Educate at the City of Glasgow College. This global initiative addresses the growing talent shortage by providing students and educators with the resources to accelerate cloud-related learning in Scotland.

“The cloud market – and the AWS platform in particular – is growing rapidly,” said Lucas. “However, the skills necessary to ensure that companies can take advantage of the scale and flexibility of the cloud are in short supply – so this is a very necessary – and timely – move by AWS.”

With the increasing demand for cloud employees, AWS Educate provides an academic gateway for the next generation of IT and cloud professionals. It offers tools for students in Scotland – and around the world – who have ambitions of a career in cloud technology.

“We’ve always been strong advocates for the expansion of cloud skills in Scotland – it’s why we initiated the AWS User Group in Edinburgh,” added Lucas. “I’m therefore delighted to lend my support to this vital AWS initiative.”
